Let’s find out all the official switch on dates location by location in London.
2 NOVEMBER – OXFORD STREET

Oxford Street was the first London borough to announce the switch-on date of the Christmas lights. The wonderful shopping street will be illuminated from Wednesday 2nd of November.
There will be 5,000 bright stars with fewer operating hours and LED lights, so only a third of the energy will be used compared to last year.
8 NOVEMBER – CARNABY STREET

Carnaby Christmas lights will be switched on from Tuesday 8th of November. There will be 14 different themes including neon lyrics from Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, glittering Rolling Stones tongues, oversized robins, a giant snowman, colourful palm trees as well as underwater scenes from the unforgettable Under The Sea.

Covent Garden will be transformed into a winter wonderland over the Christmas period. Mistletoe chandeliers, a wonderful Christmas tree and twinkling lights will illuminate the stunning piazza from Tuesday 8th of November.

Regent Street will switch its lights on from Wednesday 9th of November, a week after Oxford Street. The wonderful ‘Spirit of Christmas’ angels will shine above Regent Street, St James’s, Piccadilly and Jermyn Street. There won’t be a switch-on event with fireworks and music this year as it used to be.
