The UK’s first Pride train, launched by Avanti West Coast, is a permanent part of the fleet and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The 11 carriages-long train is “filled with literature, stories and colourful posters and will feature Pride related information and fun facts during the onboard announcements”.
The train has been named ‘Progress’, and the name was suggested by rail engineer Edward Hitchon Godfrey, who said that “embodies both a celebration of where we have got to as an industry and as a society, and a recognition that we’re not there yet – that there’s still work to be done”.
