Trafalgar Square Christmas tree will be lit up today!

The tree is a gift from the Norwegian people and it comes from Oslo each year, in a tradition that dates back to 1947.

The iconic tree, which is 24m tall and around 80 years old, is already in Trafalgar Square and it will be decorated with lights in the traditional Norwegian fashion.



The tree will be lit up on Thursday 2nd of December at 6 pm.

The Christmas light ceremony will include speeches from the Lord Mayor of Westminster and the Mayor of Oslo, plus performances from the Salvation Army, the Poetry Society and the St Martin-in-the-Fields Choir.
