Bloomsbury London Pub Tour Details

Not your usual Saturday night pub crawl, this is wonderful free walking tour, a stroll through the beautiful Georgian streets and squares of Bloomsbury stopping for a drink at 5 pubs of architectural and historical significance (your guide will be happy to give recommendations for local cask ales and gins – don’t forget to bring some money for the drinks!).

Bordering on the City of London and set out in the 17th and 18th centuries, Bloomsbury is rich in history and you will discover the answers to the following questions:

What is a “snob screen” and where can you find one?
Why did 18th century mews houses in London become popular with racing drivers in the 1960s?
Whose head was sewn back on to his body in a house in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the same house where a famous murder victim later lived?
Why did the water from one 19th century street water pump taste chalky while another spread a deadly disease?
Why did wealthy men in the 17th and 18th centuries wear wigs and how did the ladies at that time suffer for their bizarre hairstyles?

The Bloomsbury Pub Tour exceeded our expectations! It was a great mix of history of London and a pub crawl with a nice group of people. Mark made the evening absolutely interesting and enjoyable, despite the cold weather. He is very knowledgeable and passionate, and answered all our questions. He told us lot of history as well as curiosities related to the old times. A pleasant evening filled with fun, which we absolutely enjoyed and would definitely recommend! Thank you Mark! Looking forward to booking the next tour with you!

What does 'Free Pay What You Can' mean?

Wonders of London works on a pay what you feel basis, we understand that many of you have travelled various distances to get here, some of you might be locals, some of you might be on holiday here and we know that it can be difficult to enjoy all of London’s best attractions without spending a fair penny. We want our tours to be accessible to anyone and everyone so we don’t charge a ticket price but just bear in mind that are guides are working guides so we ask that at the end of the tour just have a think about what the tour was worth to you and pay however much or small you feel.
