The biggest new theatre built in London since 1976 is planned to open in 2025

A brand-new Olympia Theatre is set to be the biggest new theatre to open in London since the 1970s, and will be operated by Trafalgar Entertainment.

The 1,575-seat Olympia will be part of a huge redevelopment in Kensington and it follows a £100m deal between Trafalgar Entertainment and the owners of the Kensington Olympia site.

The previous and last theatre to open in London with more than 1,000 seats was the National Theatre in 1976.

Plans still need to get approval and if everything goes as scheduled, the Olympia theatre will open in 2025.
