The Mayor of London says he wants to “have a city that better reflects the city” and thinks “the committee may take down slavers’ statues”.
Sadiq Khan had set up a commission to review London’s landmarks to ensure they reflect its diversity.
This is coming after on Sunday protesters tore down a statue of slave trader Edward Colston in Bristol.
The Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm is going to review the city’s landmarks and consider which legacies should be celebrated before making recommendations.
