From 2025 new walk-through and air-conditioned trains will make Piccadilly line journeys more frequent, more reliable and faster.
The almost 50 years old trains running now on the Piccadilly line are unreliable and expensive to maintain.
In 4 years new generation tube trains will start replacing the existing 1970s fleet for the Piccadilly line.
The new trains will improve reliability, will allow TFL to run more trains per hour during peak times and will improve the experience of millions of customers with an improved comfort and accessibility
The order for the new Piccadilly line trains would also support 25,000 new jobs in London.
