Last month, more than 200 years after her death, the feminist icon has been honoured with a sculpture in north London.
Mary Wollstonecraft, an 18th-century English writer, philosopher, and women’s rights advocate who has been dubbed the “mother of feminism”, has been honoured with the statue by sculptor Maggi Hambling.
The sculpture is located in London’s Newington Green park, is cast in silvered bronze and features a naked woman emerging with strength from an amalgamation of other female bodies.
