London’s West End might be pedestrianised to become outdoor dining district

Westminster City Council has plans for an outdoor dining scheme in London’s West End to help restaurants, cafés and bars.

Soho Pedestrianisation London

Under current plans Soho, Covent Garden, Mayfair and Marylebone will make up the new outdoor dining district.

The plan would see roads closed to traffic at certain times during the day and venues on these streets will be allowed to put tables and chairs on pavements and even in the road.

The scheme is expected to come into force in late July or early August.
