London buses turned into ambulances to help transfer patients

Two London single-deckers with seats removed and oxygen onboard, have been loaned to the NHS and will transfer patients to ease Covid strain.

The vehicles, which have been loaned by Go-Ahead, will be staffed by doctors and nurses from the NHS and also volunteers from the St John Ambulance first aid charity.

The buses will have oxygen onboard and all the equipment will be able to be charged from the batteries of the electric vehicles.

Four drivers have been provided by Go-Ahead, and in the next few days they will start driving with the first patients on board.
