Wearing face coverings will be mandatory on public transport in England from 15 June, the transport secretary has said.
The government will require people to wear face coverings on all public transport from 15 June, when non-essential shops will start reopening.
Passengers without a face mask will not be allowed to board or will need to get off at the next stop.
British Transport Police will have the power to issue on-the-spot fines to rule breakers.
Young children, the disabled and people with breathing difficulties are exempt.
