The exact centre of London… where is it?

Talking about central London is always a somewhat controversial and complex topic, given the vastness of what could be defined as central London.

In reality a centre of London exists, and it is right here in Trafalgar Square, next to the statue of Charles I, with this plaque confirming it.
Even Google Maps confirms it: try and search for the destination “London” and you will see that the red pin indicates this point!
I assure you it has nothing to do with this star, which is here for buskers!
At one time here, in place of the statue, was Queen Eleanor’s original cross, the replica of which now stands outside Charing Cross station, so people often get confused and think that central London is over there.

This was and is the point from which all distances from London are measured, a custom which appears to have arisen in the late 18th or early 19th century.
But before that, distances were measured from the London Stone in Cannon Street or the Cornhill Standard, in the City of London. While on the road from London to Lewes, the mileage is taken from the church door of St Mary-le-Bow, also in the City.
Am I confusing you?
Just think that in 2014 a certain Tom Hoban created an electronic map in AutoCAD and calculated that the exact centre of London is located in Lambeth North!
And in your opinion, where is the centre of London?
