Contactless boarding will be introduced next year when Eurostar passengers will be able to travel without showing passports after the introduction of facial recognition technology.
This new technology has the perk to cut queues at the stations and to speed up boarding, limiting physical contact with staff to avoid spreading COVID-19.
This initiative will be funded by the Department of Transport as part of the £9.4million allocated to revolutionise rail travel in the UK.
