The “digital green pass” proposal by the European Commission could be open to British travellers in time to save summer holidays.
The proposals for the pass will “respect data protection, security and privacy”, said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and it will be set out this month.
The UK will discuss with the EU this proposals which could allow people to travel more freely in time for this summer.
Many countries say that first it needs to be established that vaccinated people cannot transmit COVID-19 to others.
France and Belgium have also expressed concern saying that easing travel only for vaccinated people would be unfair.
