COVID-19: New Year’s Eve fireworks in London CANCELLED by mayor Sadiq Khan

The mayor of London says “we can’t afford” for people to gather for the displays to welcome 2021, so the fireworks will be replaced by a stay-home event this year.

“There will not be fireworks at New Year’s Eve this year, like in previous years” said the mayor.

He said that they are working on plans for an event that people can “enjoy in the comfort and safety of their living rooms”, which will be unveiled shortly.
