COVID-19: Four-Week England Lockdown From 5 November Which Could Be Extended

Boris Johnson said that unless action is taken now, capacity will be exceeded in hospitals and there will be thousands of deaths a day.

From Thursday 5 November the Government is taking the following action:

• Requiring people to stay at home, except for specific purposes

• Preventing gathering with people you do not live with, except for specific purposes

• Closing certain businesses and venues

The lockdown will last until until Wednesday 2 December, when the government will look to return to a regional approach, based on the latest data, but Michael Gove said that English lockdown may last beyond 2 Dec.
