An Oasis in the City: St. Dunstan in-the-East

Probably you have been wandering around the City hoping to find a hidden corner where to take a break from the hustle and bustle. Well, this green oasis is called St. Dunstan in-the-East.

ST. DUNSTAN IN-THE-EAST

The church was destroyed during the Second World War and today on the site there is a lush public garden. Well hidden, it is not easily visible as surrounded by those that once were the church’s walls. The building was bombarded in the Blitz of 1941, but the steeple survived the attack.

YOUR IDEAL PLACE…

If you are looking for the perfect photoshoot spot, this is undoubtedly the one. In spring and summer, lush plants and colourful flowers together with the dark charm of the church’s ruins contribute to creating a unique background for a picture postcard portrait.

Or just imagine yourself relaxing while burying yourself in a good book, believe me, this is heaven!

So next time you are in the City pay a visit to this oasis close to Monument Station!
